Support Program Success
Most fatherhood programs use a combination of outreach and recruitment strategies, including community outreach, referrals from community partners, and mandatory referrals from child support agencies, family courts, or child welfare programs.
Providing relevant and impactful services that meet the needs of participating fathers can be our program’s best recruitment tool when those fathers spread the word to others.
Program Retention:
Retention challenges are not unique to fatherhood programs, yet we have developed the program concept to support best opportunities for success – services offered frequently over a short period of time. The Fathers on the Move program is a 2-hour class held one time per week for a total of 8 weeks with weekly incentives offered to encourage continued participation.
In addition, we have trained facilitators who will build rapport with fathers and develop ongoing relationships of trust and commitment. We will offer peer support groups and activities to create opportunities for fathers to share their stories and support each other.

The Fathers on the Move program covers five counties in the Missouri Bootheel: Mississippi, Scott, New Madrid, Pemiscot and Stoddard. It is an 8-week course with classes held one time per week for approximately 2 hours each.

Transportation Can Be Provided to Participants.
For those in need, our program provides transportation. The facilitator in the county where they reside can discuss the details.
Participants will receive a $10 gift card for each successful class attended. At the end of the 8-week program, the participant will receive an additional $100 for successful completion.
